An annulment is different from a divorce because a divorce dissolves a marriage. An annulment asks the court to find that the marriage never existed. There are different grounds that you have to allege for an annulment. One may be that the person is not old enough to consent, if it is a minor child. Another is if the person married is already married. Then you can ask the court to find that is wasn’t a valid marriage.
